For those wishing to meet at the trailhead, the time and directions are listed within the description of each hike. You will check in there.
Directions to trailhead, difficulty level, and length of time are stated in the descriptions below as well as if there will be a stop for refreshments.
Please note: these treks are for exercise as well as the scenery and comradery. Wear hardy hiking shoes or boots, and bring water, hiking sticks, and suitable clothing for weather.

Wed. Jan. 1 – NEW YEARS DAY WALK: Brandts Creek Trail in Glenmore: Meet at 10:00am at the corner of St. Andrews Drive and Valley Rd. Park along the street. This is a nice easy and popular route to start off 2025! It is an “out and back” walk that can take 1.5 – 2 hrs depending on the groups’ wishes. We can stop for coffee on-route or after the walk at Tim Hortons or McCafe. Please wear good boots with non-skid soles or bring your grippers in case of ice. Wed. Jan. 8 – Milkshed Loop: Meet at PAC at 9:00am or the trailhead at 9:15am. Directions: Turn right from the centre and then left on Gordon. Stay on Gordon past H2O to DeHart. Turn right and then left on Lakeshore. The Milkshed is on the left by the roundabout. We will start and finish at the Milkshed. Parking is limited so please carpool if possible. Our hike will take us up Bellevue Creek Trail and then a circular route returning along the lake. Wear good boots, bring your poles, warm clothes, and wear a smile. Wed. Jan. 15 – Horizon Trail: Meet at PAC at 9:00am or the trailhead at 9:15am. Directions: Turn right from the centre, go over the bridge and turn right at the first traffic light onto Horizon Drive. Go down the hill and park at the bottom where the road makes a sweeping turn to the left. This is an undulating hike on both road and trails. Approx. 1hr

Wed. Jan. 22 – Helmut’s Sausage: Meet at PAC at 9:00am or the trailhead at 9:15am. Directions: Take Enterprise and turn right at the second street after Hwy 33 onto Commerce Ave. Look for Helmut’s on the left, park here. This is an easy flat hike up to Sexsmith and back about 7km. Wed. Jan. 28 – Greenway Loop: Meet at PAC at 9:00am or the trailhead at 9:15am. Directions: Turn left on Lexington Drive off Lakeshore Rd. Go past the Misssion Sportsfield and park at the Mission Dog Park on left. We will walk towards Casorso Rd., and back. Walk will be about two hours in length. The route is flat but bring poles and grippers in case it is icy. Coffee at Urban fare or back at the PAC as per choice. For more information call Issy at 250-681-2544.

& NEW YEARS DAY WALK
Wed. Dec. 4 – New Hike – Tallus Flume Trail: Meet at PAC at 9:00am or at trailhead at 9:25am. Trailhead is on Paramount Drive (beside #2560) adjacent to the corner of Paramount and Mountain Hollows Lane near Shannon Lake. Look for the gray mailboxes on the empty lot across from the playground. The trailhead is not marked. Hike is very long with a steep beginning and gradually flattens out. We will follow the Flume Trail to the source of the water at Smith Creek and then go a bit further to a spot overlooking the west side and the encroaching subdivisions. Trail is very wet and muddy in some spots. If there is snow on the ground, bring ice grippers and poles. Hike will be 2 hrs +. Coffee at Tim Hortons near the bridge or PAC. Fri. Dec. 6 – Special Advanced Trek Knox East to Wilden: Meet at the PAC at 10:00am or at the trailhead at 10:15am. Directions: Clement, Clifton Rd., right on Cara Glen to new road, park on right only and not in roundabout. Bring your sturdy hiking boots, poles, water, and lunch. The trek is approx. 2.5 hours with rolling moderate terrain to some difficult hills. Lunch will be along the trail. Call Ed Letkeman at 250-808-7869 for more information.
Wed. Dec. 11 – Ballou Park: Meet at PAC at 9:00am or the trailhead at 9:15am. Directions: Turn left onto Ballou Rd. off Glenmore Rd. Park on road close to trailhead. We will walk in and out for approximately 5-6 kms round trip. The trail is mostly flat with some hills so please bring grippers and poles. Wed. Dec. 18 – Neighbourhood Walk: Meet at PAC at 9:30am or the trailhead at 10:00am (Please note the time). We will start and finish from the corner of Guisachan and Charolais close to the Fountains. Our hike will be in the neighbourhood approx. 1hr 30mins. This is an easy flat walk but I don’t know where at the moment. Please wear good boots, dress warmly, and bring a smile. Lunch to follow at Chris and Bob’s place afterwards (see below for details). Trekkers – You are all invited to a pot luck Christmas luncheon after the hike at 45-2200 Gordon Drive on Wednesday, Dec. 18th. The hostess will be make a hot dish such as chili, soup or a casserole, and will supply the beverages and a Christmas dessert. Fri. Nov. 1- Special Trek – Myra to Flamingo Flats. Meet at PAC for a 10:00am departure or at the trail head at 10:20am. Directions: Benvoulin to first roundabout, take Casorso to second roundabout, take Bedford to Stewart Road East. Park just past the hydro station in the trail head parking lot. Bring your sturdy hiking boots, poles, and water. Bring your lunch as we will have lunch along the trail. The trek is Approx. 3 hours, moderate-to-difficult with several long hills. Wed. Nov. 6 – Hoodoo Trail on Black Mountain: Meet at PAC at 9:00am or at the trailhead at 9:20am. The Trailhead is at the corner of Swainson Road and Treetop Road. We will follow the main trail from the parking lot to the Ephemeral Trail, then take the Hoodoo Trail, and return on the Coyote Trail. There is a steep uphill climb at the beginning and other steep hills along the trail. Bring poles and wear good hiking boots. Hike will be approx. 1.5hrs. Coffee to follow at PAC. Fri. Nov. 8 – Special Advanced Trek – Goats Peak: Meet at PAC at 9:00am to carpool or meet at the trailhead at 9:25am. Directions: Take Hwy 97 past West Kelowna. Just past the Hwy 97C Connector turnoff, turn Left on Seclusion Bay Rd. In 350 m turn Left and park at the trailhead sign. This trail begins with an easy walk along Big Sagebrush, followed by a steady climb with switchbacks along Mountain Goat Trail to the summit. It is a steep climb with some sections along a rock face that can be slippery on the way down. Wear sturdy shoes with good traction. Poles are recommended to help with this terrain. Pack a snack and a drink to enjoy at the top platforms or a more secluded area depending on weather. Allow 3 hours on the trail. For more information call Jan Appleton at 778-215-0312.
Wed. Nov. 13 – Knox Mountain Trek Meet at PAC at 9:00am or at the trail head at 9:15am. Directions Clement, Clifton Road, left on Rio, right Magic Drive, first left on Avonlea Way. Park by the sunken park where the road turns on Avonlea. Bring your sturdy hiking boots and poles. We will hike to Kathleen Lake and across Knox Mountain. Fri. Nov. 15 – Special Advanced Trek Myra Park East Meet at PAC 10:00am or the trail head at 10:20. Directions: take Benvoulin, left on K.L.O. Turns into McCulloch Road; turn right on Field Road, park at end by trail head. Bring your good hiking boots, poles, lunch, and water. Wed. Nov. 20 – Canyon Tour Path and Ponds Neighbourhood: Meet at PAC at 9:00am to carpool or meet at the trailhead at 9:20am. Directions: Take Gordon Drive, turn Left on Steele Road and then Left again on Frost Rd. Go 100 m and park on the road. An easy, meandering paved path with good views of the Canyon and the Lake. Often many birds in the area. There are some gradual uphill sections. Allow about 1.5 hours. After the trek we can go to Save-On Foods in the Ponds or return to PAC for coffee. Wed. Nov. 27 – Quail Ridge Flume Trail: Meet at PAC at 9:00am or trailhead at 9:15am. Directions: Left on Airport Way. Take the 1st exit on roundabout onto Quail Ridge Boulevard and continue on same. Left onto Quail Run Drive. First right onto Quail Lane and drive to end Quail Crescent. Turn left and park in cul de sac. From here we will walk along Eagle View towards the university and back along the Flume trail. Distance: 6.4 km. Elevation: 128 m. Time: 1.5 to 2 hours. This is a nicely forested trail that is mostly flat with some inclines. Coffee at PAC or group choice. Call Issy at 250-681-2544 for more information.

Wed. Oct. 2 – Peachland Lookout: Meet at PAC at 9:00am and proceed to Peachland. Directions: Turn right on Princeton Ave and continue until the road turns to gravel (it is now called Brenda Mines Road and is quite rough). Continue 3KM on the gravel. You will pass Zipzone at about 2KM. Just past the 3KM marker, turn right onto a dirt pull out at the trailhead. The first part of the hike is steep with lots of loose gravel and larger stones but eventually the trail becomes mostly gentle uphill. After 2 KM the trail ends at a beautiful lookout with a view towards Summerland and Okanagan Mountain Park. Hike is approximately 1.5 hours. Friday – Oct. 4 – Special Advanced Trek – Beyond Gladstone: Meet at PAC 9:30am. Meet at 10:00 A.M at trailhead on Harrington Court. Directions: Take 97 through Peachland, right on Princeton at light, about 3 blocks right on Somerset, left on Gladstone, left on Victoria, right on Harrington Court. This trek is moderate-to-difficult as climbing several hills above the lake. Bring your good hiking boots, poles and water. Please pack your lunch as we will have lunch along the trail. Wed. Oct. 9 – Paul’s Tomb: Meet at PAC at 9:00am or at the bottom of Knox Hill at 9:15am – lots of parking there. We will first hike up the Knox Mountain trail to the 1st lookout and then continue on the trail down to Paul’s Tomb. The first part is moderate incline – the rest is gentle slope. Total time for the hike will be just under 2 hours. Coffee afterwards at PAC. Any questions call Pearse 250-718-1958.
Wed. Oct. 16 – Black Mountain – Hawthorne Trail: Tower Ranch entry point. Meet at PAC at 9:00am and at the trailhead at 9:30am. Directions: Take Hwy 97 north to McCurdy Rd and turn right . Follow on McCurdy all the way to Tower Ranch Dr. Turn right here and right again on Summer Crescent. Follow to the parking area which is generous and obvious. This is a fabulous hike, a bit steep at the start for the first 20 minutes with some switchbacks. Then it is easy giving you lots of bang for your hiking effort with spectacular views of the Valley and the magnificent grasslands of Black Mountain Park. It doesn’t get better than this ! Friday – Oct. 18 – Special Advanced Trek – Myra: Meet at PAC 9:30am or 10:00am at trailhead. Directions: take Benvoulin, left on K.L.O. turns into McCulloch, right on June Springs turns into Little White Forrest Service Road about 1 km, park on right in Angel Springs Lot. This trek is moderate-to-difficult as we will climb several hills past an old cabin to fabulous view of changing colours. Bring your good hiking boots, poles and water. Wed. Oct. 23 – Westbank Centre Loop: Meet at PAC at 9:00am and carpool or meet at the trailhead at 9:30am. Directions: From PAC take Hwy 97 across the bridge into Westbank. Turn left on Old Okanagan Hwy and park at Johnson Bentley Pool. We will trek down Brown Rd to the Glen Canyon Park entrance all the way to Gellatly Bay and back up via Angus Drive and a short trail reconnecting us to Johnson Bentley Pool. There are several stairs through the canyon and a gradual but uphill section towards the end of the trek. Approximately 1.75 hrs. and 5.7 km. For more information call Issy Aguiar at 250-681-2544.
Wed. Oct. 30 – Mission Greenway: Meet at PAC at 9 am or trailhead at 9:15 am. Directions: Head north on Springfield Rd, turn right onto Hollywood Rd South. At first stop sign continue straight ahead. Meet at Scenic Canyon Regional Park parking lot on right hand side of road. We will walk along the Greenway to the end of the trail and then walk up the stairs. This is an easy in and out trail that will take about 1-1 1/2 hours. There are some benches at the turnaround point. Hikers can choose to go for coffee at the food court in Orchard Park mall or at the PAC. For more information call Issy at 250-681-2544.

Wed. September 4 – Rutland Murals: Meet at PAC at 8:30am or at the trailhead at 8:45. Directions: Head north on Hwy 97 and turn right onto Hwy 33. Continue up 33, and when you see Plaza 33 mall, turn left onto Roxby Road (before Rutland road). There is plenty of parking on your left. We will meet here. This is a flat easy conducted tour of the Rutland murals approx. 1.5 to 2 hours. Please wear good hiking shoes, bring a drink and a hat and of course a smile. Wed. September 11- Myra Bellevue Small Loop: Meet at PAC at 8:30am or at the trailhead at 8:50am. Directions: From PAC, turn right onto Spall, left on Springfield, right on Cooper, and right on Benvoulin. At the first roundabout, take 2nd exit onto Casorso Rd. At the second roundabout take 2nd exit onto Casorso Rd. (This road changes name to Bedford, then Stewart Rd E, but you just go straight). In 4.4 km you will come to the main parking lot for Myra-Bellevue Park. This is a moderate hike of 5.8 km that will take about 2 hours. There are several hills that will lead around a loop and to Rose Lookout with panoramic views where we will stop for a short break. Parking and outhouse available at the beginning. Friday Special Advanced Trek – Sept. 13 – BX Falls: Meet at PAC 8:30am. Meet at 9:40am at trailhead on Star Road. Directions: Hwy. 97 to Vernon, right on 48th Ave. turns into Silver Star Road, right on Star Road just past BX School. Trail head on the right of Star Road. Bring your good hiking boots, poles and water. The trek is moderate with stairs up and down to the falls. Trail is covered by a canopy of trees. Wed. September 25 – KVR Trestles (hike to remember Heidi): Meet at PAC at 8:30am or the trailhead at 9:15am. Directions: take Benvoulin, left on KLO, turns into McCulloch Road, past Field Road over the bridge then right on Myra Forest Service Road about 1km past the bridge. This trek is an easy flat hike about 1hr 30-45 mins. Please wear good boots, bring poles, something to drink, a jacket (it can be cool) and a smile. Coffee/lunch to follow at TBD. Wed. August 7 – Upper and Lower Bench Loop in Myra Bellevue Park: Meet at PAC at 8:30am for carpooling or at the trailhead at 8:50am. This is a relatively easy loop, 4.8 km hike through a dry forest with some simple inclines. It will likely take between 1.5 to 2 hours to complete. Pack water, sturdy hiking shoes, poles, hat, bug spray and your poles. Directions: From PAC, turn right onto Hwy 97 to Gordon Dr, turn left. Turn left on Casorso Rd. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto Casorso Rd. At the next roundabout, take the second exit onto Casorso Rd. In 2 km turn right onto Saucier Rd. Continue for 2.8 km and park in the gravel parking lot on the left. After the hike, we will enjoy coffee at the new Save On Foods in the Ponds subdivision (940 Frost Rd). Wed. August 14 – Okanagan Centre Beach Walk: Meet at PAC at 8:30am or at 9:00 am at the Lake Country Museum at 11255 Okanagan Centre Rd W, Lake Country. Directions: Take Glenmore Rd towards Lake Country, turn left onto Okanagan Centre Rd West. Meet at the parking lot by the museum. Walk along lake. Out and back 6km total. Wed. August 21 – Mission Creek Park: Meet at PAC at 8:30am or at the trailhead at 8:45am. Directions: From the Centre turn right onto Spall and go through to Springfield. Turn left and stay on Springfield to the EECO Centre on your right. Park here. Our hike will take us around the park and up into Sutherland Hills. This is an easy hike with just a couple of short climbs. All on trails with lots of shade. Wear good boots,

Proceed to Woodpark Crescent, turn right and then left onto Woodpark Court. Hike will be approx. 1.5 hours. Coffee to follow at PAC. Wed. July 3 – PAC Neighbourhood: Meet at PAC at 8:30am for an easy hike around the neighbourhood. Wear good shoes, bring a drink and a hat. Approx. 1hr. 30mins. Coffee to follow at The Bread Company in Landmark Square. For more info please call Martyn at 250-862- 8753.
Wed. July 10 – Mission Greenway: Meet at PAC at 8:30am or trailhead at 8.45am. Directions: Head north on Springfield Rd, turn right onto Gertsmar Rd. and park in parking lot on left hand side of road. We will walk along the Greenway, past Hollywood Rd. and continue to the end of the trail and then walk up the stairs. This is an easy 6 kms in and out trail that will take about 2 hours. Wed. July 17 – Middleton Mountain Trails South Vernon/ Coldstream: This trail has SPECTACULAR VIEWS in 3 directions for little effort with stairs that take us to the top. Time approx. 1.5 hours Meet at PAC at 8:30am to carpool or the trail head at 9:20am. Directions: Take 97th North to OK College Vernon and turn right onto College Way. Continue downhill and under the rail bridge, crossing Kalamalka Lake Rd. where the street now becomes Husband Rd. Continue on Husband to Middleton Way and turn left here and onward to turn right on Mt. Grady Rd. and then another right on Mt. Ida Drive. Park at the sign for McKergow Meadows (on the right side of the street). The trail head is opposite. Coffee afterwards at the Rail Trail Cafe on Kal Lake Rd. Wed. July 24 – Bellevue Creek Loop: Meet at PAC at 8:30am for carpooling to The Ponds subdivision or meet at the trailhead by 9:00am. Directions: Take Gordon Drive, go left on Steele Rd. Drive up to the top of Steele Rd and park at the corner of Steele and Fawn Run Drive. This is an easy hike that will take about 1 hr. and 15 min. There is a steep section in the beginning but otherwise it’s very mild elevation on this trail. Wear your hiking shoes. Poles are optional. Note: DeHart is closed westbound so please turn right off Gordon at either Old Meadows Road or McClure Avenue. Please be careful when turning left onto Lakeshore.
Go right from PAC and turn left at Gordon Drive. Stay on Gordon to Dehart then turn right, then left onto Lakeshore. Go completely around the roundabout and immediately take a right turn into the Milk Shed Cafe. Park here. Please try to carpool because parking is limited. This is an easy hike with just one short uphill. Approx. 1hr. 30mins. Please wear good boots, bring a drink and wear a hat. Wed. June 5 – Old Glenmore: Meet at PAC at 8:30am and check in at desk. Hike/walk will start from PAC at 8:35am. We will walk over to Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery entrance and traverse the trail up to Omineca Place, cross over Dilworth Drive, descend to the Okanagan Rail Trail and return to PAC- still in time to have breakfast there before the 10:30am cutoff! Wed. June 12 – Kekuli Bay: Meet at PAC at 8:30am for carpooling or at the trailhead at 9:10am. Directions: Drive north on Hwy 97 and past the Predator Ridge turnoff, look for a right hand turn onto Kalamalka Lakeview Drive and then almost immediately take a right onto High Ridge Rd. Follow to the parking lot. We will do the full loop south on the Rail Trail for approx. 3 Km returning through the woods. Approx 6.5 Kms. Wed. June 19 – Trepanier Creek Trail: Meet at PAC at 8:30am or trailhead at 9:15am. Directions: Drive along the Okanagan Connector (97N) and take the Trepanier Creek exit. Go left under the overpass. Limited parking at the trailhead so please carpool wherever possible. There is also an unpaved parking lot across from the trailhead. This is considered an easy 6.5km out and back trail that will take about 2 hours. There are a few inclines so poles recommended. Coffee at Tim Hortons in the Vintage View Centre on Carrington Rd. Wed. June 26 – Powers Creek and Flume Trail: Meet at PAC at 8:30 am and carpool to Blue Jay Drive in Glenrosa (use 3164 Blue Jay Drive if you are using a GPS). Park at the end of the road in the cul de sac. This is a pretty mellow trail that is mostly flat and level with a steep section going down to the trail and then coming back to the starting point. Wed. May 1 – Spion Kop -Lake Country: Meet at PAC at 9:00am or at the trailhead at 9:30am. Directions: Take Hwy. 97 towards Lake Country, left onto Okanagan centre rd east . Turn onto Carrs Landing Road, right onto Moberly, 2nd left onto Forest Hills (note no road sign but there is a white sign with a hiker at the start) right on Townsend, left onto Northstar. Park at the end of the road by the Raven Ridge Trailhead. Please carpool where possible as small parking lot but parking also available along Northstar Rd. The hike will cover the Raven Ridge trail and Paintbrush trail to the Grand Overlook. This is a moderate hike with some steep sections. Wed. May 8 – Black Mountain Hoodoo Trail: Meet at PAC at 9:00am or at the Trailhead at 9:20am. Directions: The Trailhead is at the corner of Swainson Road and Treetop Road. We will follow the main trail from the parking lot to the Ephemeral Trail, then take the Hoodoo Trail and return on the Coyote Trail. There is a steep uphill climb at the beginning and other steep hills along the trail. Bring poles and wear good hiking boots. Hike will be approximately 1 ½ hrs. Coffee to follow at PAC. Head west from the Centre and turn left onto Gordon Drive.Continue on Gordon Drive past H2O and Okanagan Mission Secondary school, then head up the hill. Turn left onto Steele Road, head up past Frost and turn right onto Elderberry Street. Park here.

Wed. May 22 – Buggy Trail and Dan White Way (Peachland): Meet at PAC at 9:00am or at the trailhead at 9:35am. Directions: Take Hwy 97 to Peachland. Turn right on Princeton Ave. In 2.7 km take a sharp right onto Sanderson Ave. Parking is in 800m. This route has a gentle uphill path for the first kilometre and then becomes steeper, passing by McCall Creek on our way. There is little tree coverage on this hike so wear protective layers of sunscreen. Pack poles and your hiking boots. Approx. 2 hr. Coffee to follow at Bliss Bakery in Peachland or back at PAC. Wed. May 29 – Dilworth Mountain: Meet at PAC at 9:00am or at the trailhead at 9.15am. Directions: The trailhead is at Cassiar Place. From PAC take Glenmore Road, right on Summit, left on Dilworth Drive, left on Cassiar Road and then left into Cassiar Place. The hike is a steady climb up to the Tower and we will traverse a route along Dilworth Mountain. Hike time will be approximately 1.5 hours. Coffee to follow at PAC. Wed. April 3 – Scenic Canyon Trek: Meet at PAC at 9:00am or at the trailhead at 9:20am. Directions: Take Benvoulin, left on KLO, turns into McCulloch, past Gallagher’s golf course, left on Field Road to trail head parking lot. Bring your sturdy hiking boots, poles and water. We will hike Scenic Canyon down to Mission Creek. The trek is Approx. 2 hours, moderate hills, both up and down. Coffee / lunch to follow at either McCulloch Pub or at PAC. Wed. April 10 – Lakeview Cove Loop: Meet at PAC at 9:00am or at the trailhead at 9:15am. Directions: Turn right from PAC and head over the bridge. At the third traffic light (Ross Road), turn left and follow Ross around to the right, then turn left on Hewl Road. At the end of the road (Jim Lind Arena) turn left onto the gravel parking lot. The hike is in two parts, the first half is on trails and the second on roads. Note: the first 30 mins of the hike is challenging with a long gradual climb (steep in places) on a narrow single track trail. It is then level for some distance up to Iain Lamont Park before returning on roads, with one long uphill then downhill to the finish. Approx. 1hr 30 mins. Wed. April 17 – Kalamoir Park Trails: Meet at PAC at 9:00am or at the trailhead at 9:20am. Directions: Drive Hwy 97 South, across the Bridge and take the Campbell Road exit (the exit is at the end of the bridge!), follow the signs at the 2 roundabouts and continue on Campbell Road all the way – to Lucinde Road. Campbell turns left there. Keep going straight – called Benedict Road and park at the end of Benedict. Please be sensitive to the speed signs on Campbell. We encourage carpooling from PAC as parking is very limited at the trailhead. This is a beautiful hike and the Arrowleaf Balsamroot will be in full bloom! We will hike out on the Waterfront and Sunnyside trails (Easy) and return on the Upper Rim Trail (Moderate difficulty). Coffee to follow at PAC. Wed. April 24 – Black Mountain Regional Park: Meet at PAC at 9:00am or at the trailhead at 9:20am. Directions: The trailhead is at the corner of Swainson Rd and Treetop Rd. This is not an easy hike with a steep uphill climb at the beginning and loose gravel in some areas. We will hike around the perimeter of the park, along the top ridge and descent back down to the parking lot. Hike will be approximately 2+ hours. Wed. March 6 – Upper and Lower Bench Loop: Meet at PAC at 9:00am or at the trailhead at 9:20am. Directions: From PAC, take Gordon Drive, turn left on Casorso, continue on Casorso at the roundabout, at the next roundabout take the 2nd exit. Continue straight on Bedford Rd, turn right on Saucier Rd, go 2.8 km and park at gravel lot on your left. This trail begins on Stewart Rd. W. by Crawford Estates, follows a ridge into Myra-Bellevue and has numerous inclines for a good workout but still appropriate for beginner hikers. Good tread and poles are highly recommended. If there is snow, lightweight grippers are also good to bring along for the hills. Pack water and an energy bar or small snack. The trail is 5 km long and will take up to 2 hours to complete. Wed. March 13 – Lake Country Rail Trail: Meet at PAC at 9:00am or at the trailhead at 10:15am Directions: Take Hwy 97 north through Winfield to Woodsdale Rd. ( by the Super Save gas station). Turn right here at the traffic light and go approx. 1 km to the tennis courts on the left. Park in the lot behind the courts. This is an easy 6 km round trip stroll with lake views. Depending on spring temps, the falls may still be frozen. Toilets at the parking lot and one on the trail. Coffee to follow at Tim’s opposite Super Save Gas. Wed. March 20 – Robert Lake: Meet at PAC at 9:00am or the trailhead at 9:20am. Directions: From the Centre turn left onto Spall/Glenmore Road and continue before turning right onto Kane Road then turn left into the IGA parking lot. Our hike will be on trail and road up to Robert Lake. This is an easy hike with only one small hump. Approx 1hr 30mins. Coffee to follow afterwards at Tim’s. Wed. March 27 – Mount Baldy: Meet at PAC at 9:00am or at the start at 9:15am. Directions: Take Hwy 97 North to Dilworth Drive; left on Dilworth, go up the hill and take a right on Mount Baldy Drive. Park at the end of the road. This is a flat start going around to the north side and then a steady climb to the top for a great view. Wed. Feb. 7 – Ballou Trial Hike: Meet at PAC at 9:00am (or at the trailhead at 9:15am) and carpool to Ballou Park at the end of Ballou Road. Ballou Road is on the opposite side of Kane Road. Turn left at the Petrocan on Glenmore. This hike is a steady uphill climb from the Glenmore Valley to the edge of the East Knox/Wilden Park System. Please bring ice grippers as the second part of the hike is often very icy! It’s a great hike if you want a cardio work out. Once we reach the top we will circle around the main pond and continue our hike on the path towards Cara Glen trail head. Wed. Feb. 14 – Peachland Waterfront: Meet at PAC at 9:00am or at the trailhead at 9:30am. Directions: Take Hwy 97 to Peachland and turn left on 13th St, then right on Beach Ave. Continue for about 1.5 km and park around 4th St and Beach Ave. This easy, flat 6 km trek goes along the waterfront, just past Trepanier Creek and return. Wed. Feb. 21 – Mission Loop: Meet at PAC at 9:00am or the trailhead at 9:15am. Directions: South on Gordon, right on LanFranco to Casorso, park near that corner. Bring your sturdy hiking boots and poles. We will Trek from LanFranco and Casorso to Green Way and Beach. The trek is approx. 1.5 hours, easy. Coffee will follow at Urban Fare. Wed. Feb. 28 – Glen Canyon Greenway: Meet at PAC at 9:00am or at the trailhead at 9:30am. Directions: Take Hwy 97 to Westbank, turn left on Hebert Rd, turn right on May St, continue to the parking lot at the Westbank Town Centre Park. This picturesque 4.5 km hike through Glen Canyon is fairly easy but has lots of stairs. We will do an out & back walk starting at the top of the canyon and going all the way to Gellatly Rd. Stay on Gordon until you reach Dehart. Turn right and stay on Dehart/Sarsons to the beach. Park in the lot in front of you. This is an easy flat walk around the neighbourhood. Wed. Jan. 10 – East Knox Mountain Park: Meet at PAC at 9:00am or at the Trailhead at 9:15am. Directions: Glenmore Drive to Union Road. Left on Union to the roundabout and then on to Upper Canyon Drive. Left on Forest Edge Drive. There is parking at the end of Forest Edge. Please bring your poles and ice grippers as the trail can be very icy. We will hike the Wilden/East Knox Park System towards the Granger Road Entrance and return via the same route. Wed. Jan. 17 – Capital News Centre and Surroundings: Meet at the Centre at 9:00am or the trailhead at 9:20am. Directions: From the Centre turn right onto Hwy 97 then turn left onto Gordon Drive. Stay on Gordon until you reach Lequime Road. Turn left, stay right and park at Boomer’s end close to the walking trail. We will walk on the pathway around the south side and back (east side) of the Centre and over towards the Greenway – distance and direction from there will depend on the condition of the Greenway. Wed. Jan. 24 – Helmut’s Sausage: Meet at the Centre at 9:00am or the trailhead at 9:15am. Directions: Head north on Enterprise and the second street after Hwy 33 turn right onto Commerce Avenue. Turn left into Helmut’s parking lot before you reach the Highway. This is an easy flat walk up the Rail Trail. We will walk up to Sexsmith Road and back. Being an out and back hike you can turn whenever you’ve had enough. Wear

Wed. Jan. 31 – Thompson Flats: Meet at PAC at 9:00am for carpooling or meet at the trailhead. Directions: Take Benvoulin Rd south. At the first roundabout take the 2nd exit on Casorso Rd. At the second roundabout go straight on Swamp Rd. Turn left on Gordon Dr. and go 3.3 km, then park on the street by Pond Ave. This is mostly a level trek about 4 km in length, although the snow/icy conditions will make it more difficult. Directions: take Benvoulin, left on KLO, turns into McCulloch, past Field Road over the bridge then after about 1km turn right on Myra Forest Service Road. Directions: Take 97 through Peachland, right on Princeton at light, about 3 blocks right on Somerset, left on Gladstone, left on Victoria, right on Harrington Court. Wed. Nov. 22 – Westbank Centre Loop: Meet at PAC at 9:00am and carpool or meet at the trailhead at 9:30am. Directions: From PAC take Hwy 97 across the bridge into Westbank. Turn left on Old Okanagan Hwy and drive to Johnson Bentley Pool, and park there. We will trek down Brown Rd to the Glen Canyon Park entrance and hike all the way to Gellatly Bay and back up via Angus Drive and a short trail. There are several stairs through the canyon and a gradual but steady uphill section towards the end of the trek. Approx. 1.5 hr (5.7km). 9:20am. Directions: Head west over the bridge and at the first traffic light turn left onto Boucherie Road. Go up and over the hill and at the second roundabout take the 9 o’clock exit onto Anders Road. Park at the community hall on the left. Wed. Oct. 4 – Gellatly Bay Lakefront: Leave the PAC at 9:00am or meet at the Gellatly Nut Farm parking lot at 9:40am. Directions: Just as you enter Westbank turn left/South on Gellatly Road. At the T intersection at the bottom of the hill turn right/West to stay on Gellatly Road. At the next T intersection at the entrance to the Cove Resort turn right/North to stay on Gellatly Road. Take the next left/West onto Whitworth Road. In one block the entrance to the nut farm will be on your left (2375 Whitworth Road, West Kelowna). Wed. Oct. 11 – Kekuli Bay Provincial Park: This is my favourite section of the Rail Trail along the shoreline of Kal Lake. Meet at PAC at 9:00 am or at the trail head at 9:45 am. Directions: Take Hwy 97 North to the Kekuli Bay (sign) and turn right onto Kalamalka Lakeview Dr. and then right again at High Ridge Rd. Continue to the Lake and park your vehicle in the lower lot. Oct. 18 – Paul’s Tomb: Meet at the Center at 9:00 am or at the base of Knox Mountain at 9.15 a.m. We will hike up on the path to the first lookout and then walk on the trail to Paul’s Tomb and back to the first lookout. We will then walk down the road back to the parking area. We will take our time on the hike up to the first lookout- it’s a bit steep but well maintained. Coffee will be back at the Centre. Wed. Oct. 25 – Crawford Loop – Myra Bellevue Provincial Park. Meet at PAC at 9:00 am or the trailhead at 9:20 am. Directions: Take Benvoulin Rd, at the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Casorso Rd. At the next roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Casorso Rd. Continue straight onto Bedford Rd. Make a slight right onto Stewart Rd E, and then a slight left into the Park entrance. There is a port-a-potty in the parking lot. This is a moderately difficult trek with rocky trails and lots of ups and downs requiring good footwear and poles recommended. Directions: take Benvoulin, left on K.L.O. turns into McCulloch, right on June Springs turns into Little White Forrest Service Road about 1 km, park on right in Angel Springs Lot. This trek is moderately difficult as we climb several hills past an old cabin to fabulous view of changing colours. Bring your good hiking boots, poles, and water.
