Directions to trailhead, difficulty level, and length of time are stated in the descriptions below as well as if there will be a stop for refreshments.
Please note: these treks are for exercise as well as the scenery and comradery. Wear hardy hiking shoes or boots, and bring water, hiking sticks, and suitable clothing for weather.

MAY 2026
Wed. May 6 – Black Mountain Hoodoo Trail. Meet at PAC at 9:00am or at the Trailhead at 9:20am. Directions: The Trailhead is at the corner of Swainson Road and Treetop Road. We will follow the main trail from the parking lot to the Ephemeral Trail, then take the Hoodoo Trail and return on the Coyote Trail. There is a steep uphill climb at the beginning and one other very steep hill along the trail. Bring poles and wear good hiking boots. Hike will be approximately 1.5hrs. Friday, May 8 – Special Advanced Hike – Spion Kop- Upper Lakes: Meet at PAC at 9:00am or 9:30am at the trailhead. Directions: From hwy 97 turn left onto Oceola to the roundabout, right onto Lake Hill Drive, left onto Shoreline Dr, left onto Apex Drive, left onto Apex Lane, left onto Trethewey Dr., take gravel road to the left to parking area.This is a moderate to hard hike with some steep inclines.Length: 7+ kms. Elevation gain: 321m. Time: 3 hours. Recommendations: poles, hat, water and snack to eat at the summit. For more information contact Issy at (250) 681-2544.
Wed. May 13 – Quail Flume and Eagle View Trail: Meet at PAC at 9:00am or 9:20am at the trailhead. Directions: From hwy 97 turn L on airport way, 1st roundabout onto Quail Ridge Blvd, L Quail Run Dr, R Quail Ln, L Quail Cres and park at the end of the road. This is a moderate loop trail. Length: 6.4km. Elevation gain: 129m. Time: 1-2 hours. Recommendations: poles, water and hat. Coffee at Tim Hortons (1740 Pier Mac Way) or PAC. Trekkers choice. Wed. May 20 – Kekuli Bay – Big Loop: Meet at PAC to carpool at 9:00am or at the trailhead at 9:40am. Directions: Take Hwy 97th north through Winfield and onward to Kalamalka Lakeview Drive turning right here proceeding to the next right hand turn onto High Ridge Rd. Follow down the hill to the parking lot near the toilets. We will proceed from here up a moderate hill and then south for 3 kms and then the Rail Trail shoreline back to our starting point. Friday, May 22 – Special Advanced Trek – Myra: Meet at PAC 9:00am or the trailhead at 9:20am. Directions: Take Benvoulin, left on K.L.O. turns into McCulloch, right on June Springs turns into Little White Forrest Service Road about 1 km, park on right in Angel Springs Lot. This trek is moderate-to-difficult as we will climb several hills in the trees. Bring your good hiking boots, poles, and water. Please pack your lunch as we will have lunch along the trail. Wed. May 27 – John’s Family Conservancy Regional Park: Time to do this one in Spring! Meet at PAC at 9:00am to carpool or the trailhead at 9:20am. Directions: Go up Gordon Drive all the way through the Mission towards the Ponds subdivision and new shopping center. Right onto Frost Rd. Left onto Chute Lake Rd. Left turn lane onto UPPER MISSION DRIVE. Stay on this road until it turns into a gravel road and eventually you will come to the gate and parking lot sign (approx. 2km of gravel) for the John’s Family Conservancy Regional Park. Circle hike about 1.5 hrs. Good hikers, walking poles if desired, hat and sunscreen a good idea. Coffee after at Save On Foods. Any questions or for more info call Pepper at 1-250-470-3917.
APRIL 2026
Wed. April 1 – The Big Loop – Spion Kop Mountain: Out of Christine’s home in Lake Country. It is 13740 Townsend Drive. Meet at PAC at 9:00am to car pool or 9:30am at the trail head. Directions: Take 97th north through Winfield and turn left at Supersave Gas onto Oceola Rd. Proceed 2K (approx.) over Rainbow Hill to Carrs Landing Rd. and turn right here. Proceed 1.7 kms then veer right onto Moberly Rd. and go 0.5 K to Forest Hill and turn left, then another 0.5 and go right on Townsend. I am second property on the right (house in the gully). Park on the street so you can leave on your terms rather than stacking in my driveway. Do carpool if possible. We have 2 homes under construction so traffic is a bit heavier in the mornings. The hike will take 1.25 hours and there are some moderately steep sections but nothing worse than we have done on Knox and we will pace ourselves accordingly. Refreshents at Tims on Oceola. Wed. April 8 – McKinley Mountain Loop: Meet at PAC at 9:00am or at Trailhead at 9:25am. Take Glenmore North to McKinley Rd. Turn left on McKinley Road. Turn right to Shayler Rd. Turn right to Shayler Place. The trailhead starts at the end of the cul de sac. This is not a long hike, but it is quite strenuous with lots of uphill climbing. The reward is stunning vistas of both the Glenmore Valley and Okanagan Lake. Bring poles, good hiking boots and water. Hike will be about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Wed. April 15 – Gellatly Rd. Pathway and Gellatly Nut Farm: Meet at PAC at 9:00am to carpool or at the trailhead at 9:20am. Trailhead is at ROTARY BEACH PARKING LOT, 2125 Boucherie Rd. It is just past the fenced area that is for First Nations people to use. It’s a good size parking lot, but does fill up, so carpooling is recommended. We will go on the path alongside Gellatly Rd., past The Cove Complex to the Gellatly Nut Farm. We will then come back mostly the same way. This is a flat walk, mostly on pavement, with some gravel in places. Good Footwear, SUN SCREEN, HATS, walking poles always a good idea. COFFEE AFTER at Frind Winery and Beach Cafe, 3275 Boucherie Rd. Friday, April 17 – Special – Knox: Meet at PAC at 9:45am or trailhead at 10:00am. Directions: Take Mountain Ave. which becomes Mt. Royal. Turn left onto Royal View Drive. Park on the road by the dog park at the end. This trail is 9-10km long with some steep climbs and will take about 3 hours. Bring poles, water, and a lunch to eat on the way. Wed. April 22 – Mission Ridge Park: Meet at PAC at 9:00 A.M. Bring your sturdy hiking boots and poles. We will hike to the ridge and into Crawford. Directions Gordon past Dehart, left on Raymer Road, left on Bullock, park by Frederick 9:15 AM. The trek is Approx. 1.75 hours, some moderate hills. Coffee will follow at Urban Fare on Lakeshore. Friday, April 24 – Special Advanced Trek – Knox Mountain: Meet at PAC at 10:00 A.M. Bring your water and lunch, hiking shoes and poles. Directions Clement, Clifton Road, left on Rio S, park at Rio and Woodpark. Meet at trail head at 10:15 AM. The trek is Approx. 2.5 hours, some moderate to difficult hills. Wed. April 29 – Kalamoir Park: Meet at PAC at 9:00am or trailhead at 9:20am. Directions: Turn left onto Boucherie Rd. off Hwy 97 and left on Sunnyside Rd. Drive to the end and park in the cul de sac. This is an easy loop hike with gradual incline, approximately 4kms and will take about 1.5 hrs. Bring poles and water. Coffee at Frinds or It’s a Bakery on Anders Rd based on personal choice. Wed. March 4 – Scenic Canyon Park at the end of Field Road in Southeast Kelowna: Meet at PAC at 9:00am or 9:20am at trailhead. Directions: Go up KLO to McCulloch Rd., Past Gallagher‘s Golf Resort, turn left on Field Rd, go to the end where there is a parking lot. Good hikers and Walking Poles recommended as some terrain is rough and trails go up and down. Hike will be about 1.5 hours. Coffee after at Orchard Park Food Court or back at PAC. Wed. March 11 – Dilworth Mountain: Meet at PAC at 9.00am or trailhead at 9:15am. Directions: The trailhead is at Cassiar Place. From PAC take Glenmore Road, right on Summit, left on Dilworth Drive, left on Cassiar Road and then left into Cassiar Place. The hike is a steady climb up to the Cellular Tower and from there we will traverse a circular route, with moderate uphill and downhill sections, right around Dilworth Mountain, returning to Cassiar Place. Wed. March 18 – Glenn Canyon Regional Park: Start point at the end of Brown Road. Meet at PAC at 9:00am or 9:20am at trailhead. Directions: Go Highway 97 across the bridge into West Bank and turn left and go to end of Brown Road which takes you to the entrance to the park. There are FIVE sets of stairs going up and down in this canyon. We will do a circle route taking us along Gellatly Road and back to the cars. Good hiking boots and Walking Poles recommended. Wed. Mar. 25 – Rail Trail in Lake Country – walk to Ribbleworth Falls: Meet at PAC at 9:00am to carpool or 9:35am at the trail head. Directions: Take 97th north through Winfield to the Supersave Gas at Woodsdale Rd. Turn right here and travel 1.4 KMs to the tennis courts. Turn left here into the parking lot. Friday, Mar. 27 – Advanced Special Hike – Myra: Meet at PAC for 10:00am departure or trailhead by 10:20am. Bring your sturdy hiking boots, poles and water. Pack a lunch to have along the trail.
Due to road closures original directions changed. They are now:
Take Benvoulin to 1st roundabout, 2nd exit to Casorso to next roundabout. First right onto Swamp, left on DeHart, right on Crawford, left on Stewart Rd West, right on Saucier, right on Swallows, left on Harvard Rd. Park on Harvard by TH.

Wed. Feb. 4 – Mission Creek Greenway: Meet at PAC to carpool at 9:00am and 9:15am at the Durnin Kiosk off Springfield or use the exit at Leckie. Lots of parking in this area and public toilets as well. We will do a 45 minute walk south along the creek and then return on the same route. Coffee at PAC. Wed. Feb. 11 – Walk is starting and finishing at PAC: Please be signed in and ready to go at 9:00am at PAC. This is a mostly pavement walk with one uphill flat dirt bit at the end of Gordon Drive to get up to Royal View Drive. Good bit of cardio. Round trip approx. 6km. There is an option on the return route, which can be discussed at that time. Wear good hikers and if there’s any snow or ice make sure you’ve got grippers/cleats and walking poles. Wed. Feb. 18 – Scenic Canyon Regional Park: Meet at PAC at 9:00am or the trail head at 9:15am. Directions: 3965 Field Rd (turn left off McCulloch Rd and right into parking lot). The hike will be ~ 6 kms and take about 1.5 -2 hours with some elevation gain. Carry poles and grippers in case of ice or snow. Coffee at Capri Food Court or back at PAC. Wed. Feb. 25 – Knox Mountain Trek Meet at PAC at 9:00 A.M. Bring your sturdy hiking boots and poles. We will hike in the hills and across Knox Mountain. Directions Clement, Clifton Road, left on Rio, right Magic Drive, first left on Avonlea Way. Park by the sunken park where the road turns on Avonlea. Meet at trail head at 9:15 AM. Wed. Jan. 7 – Mission Greenway: Meet at PAC at 9:00am or 9:15am at trailhead. Directions. Park at dog park on Lexington Ave (off Gordon). This is will be an easy 5km walk along the creek and back, and will take ~11/2 hours. A nice way for the Trekkers to start off in 2026. As the trail may be icy wear good boots and carry grippers and poles. Coffee at Urban Fare on Lakeshore Rd. For more information call Issy at (250) 681-2544.
Wed. Jan. 14 – PAC to Munson’s Pond: Meet at PAC at 9:00am and walk from there to Munson’s Pond and back. Walk is quite long (1.5 – 1.75 hours) but flat. Be prepared for ice and snow. Coffee at PAC or Bean Scene at Landmark Square. Contact Bob Feeny for more information – l-778-821-2164.
Wed. Jan. 21 – Peachland Waterfront: Meet at PAC at 9:00am or meet at the trailhead at 9:40am. Directions: Take Hwy 97 to Peachland and turn left on 13th St, then right on Beach Ave. Continue for about 1.5 km and park close to 4th St. We will gather in front of Cenotaph Park. This flat 6 km trek goes along the waterfront to Trepanier Creek, returning partway along a trail. Bundle up in case of a cold wind. Coffee to follow at Bliss Bakery in Peachland or back at PAC. Wed. Jan. 28 – Brandt’s Creek Trail: Meet at PAC at 9:00am or at the trailhead at 9:15am. Directions: Turn left out of PAC onto Spall which becomes Glenmore Drive. Stay on Glenmore until Kane Road then turn right then left into the IGA parking lot. Our hike will be flat with maybe a couple of short hills, depending on the weather. About 1hr 30mins. Please wear good boots, bring poles, a drink, dress warmly and bring a smile. Coffee afterwards at PAC, Tim’s, or Specialty Bakery (by Brandt’s Creek pub). Wed. Dec. 3 – Ballou Park (1859 Ballou Rd): Meet at PAC at 9:00am or trailhead at 9:15am. Directions: Take Glenmore Rd. and turn left on Ballou Rd. Park at end of road by Ballou Park. This trail includes some inclines but generally flat overall. We will hike about 5km taking 1.5 to 2 hours. Dress appropriately for the weather. Friday Dec. 5 – Special Trek – Myra above Field Road: Meet at PAC at 10:00am or the trail head at 10:20am. Directions: take Benvoulin, left on K.L.O., turns into McCulloch, past Gallagher’s golf course, right on Field Road to trail head. Bring your sturdy hiking boots, poles, and water. We will hike up hills above Gallagher’s. The trek is Approx. 2.5 hours, difficult hills, both up and down. Bring your lunch as we have it along the trail. Wed. Dec. 10 – SPECIAL EVENING HIKE – Candy Cane Lane Walk: Meet at PAC at 4:45pm or at the trailhead at 5pm. Directions: From the Centre turn right on to Spall, go straight to Springfield, turn left and proceed to Ziprick Road. Turn left and park on the right close to Collision Road. This is an easy flat hike around the Christmas light area. Approx. 1hr 15mins. Please bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the Food Bank. Dinner will follow at the Dragon King Restaurant (dragonkingkelowna.com). Please call Martyn if you intend to come to dinner so I can confirm the reservation. Friday Dec. 12 – Advanced Special Hike – Lost Lake/Pink Highway (partial) Loop- Myra Bellvue Provincial Park: Meet at PAC at 10:00am or trailhead at 10:20am. Directions: From Springfield Rd turn right at Benvoulin Rd, left onto Casorso through two traffic circles. Continue until Casorso turns into Bedford Rd. Continue on Bedford until it becomes Stewart Rd East. Continue straight across intersection of Saucier and Stewart Rd E. and follow latter until it ends at the Myra Bellvue Provincial Park parking lot. This hike is an ~7.5 km loop with a 236m elevation gain. There are some steady long inclines. Plan on hiking for 3-31/2 hours. Pack a lunch and water. Dress appropriately for the weather. Wed. Dec. 17 – Christmas Potluck Hike: Meet at PAC at 9:30 am or at the trailhead at 10:00am (please note the times). We will start and finish at the Corner of Guisachan and Charolais close to ‘The Fountains’ complex. Our hike will be around the neighbourhood for approx.. 1hr 30mins. This is a flat easy hike, we1ar good boots, dress warmly and bring a smile. Lunch to follow at Chris and Bob’s place at #45 in ‘The Fountains’. Wed. Dec. 24 – MNP Place Kelowna and Greenway: Meet at PAC at 9:00am or at the MNP at 9:20am. Directions: Gordon Drive to the Mission and left on Lequime Drive. Park at the south end area. This is a nice flat walk around the back of MNP Place and then on Mission Greenway, up to Casorso and loop down the other side of the Greenway back to Gordon, around the back of MNP again to the carpark. Wed. Dec. 31 – PAC Loop: Meet at PAC at 9:00am. We will start and finish at PAC. This is a mystery hike, I’m not sure where we are going but it will be a flat easy hike which will take us to the Bread Company coffee shop in Landmark Square for coffee and snacks. Wed. Nov. 5 – Downtown Waterfront and Parks: Meet at PAC at 9:00am or trail head at 9:15am. Directions: Trailhead at Jack Brow Park SIGN on Guy St. near corner of Bay Ave. in the north end by the old sawmill property. We will enjoy along the waterfront and City Park and downtown Kelowna. Friday Nov. 7 – Special Advanced Trek Myra: Meet at PAC 10:00am or 10:20am at the trail head. Directions: Take Benvoulin, left on K.L.O. turns into McCulloch, right on June Springs turns into Little White Forrest Service Road about 1 km, park on right in Angel Springs Lot. This trek is moderate-to-difficult as we will climb several hills past an old cabin to a fabulous view of changing colours. Bring your good hiking boots, poles, and water. Wed. Nov. 12 – Helmut’s Sausage: Meet at PAC at 9:00am or at the trail head at 9:15am.
Directions: From PAC head up Enterprise pass Hwy 33 and turn right onto Commerce (just past the Audi dealer). Helmut’s is on the left just before HWY 97.
We have two hikes today.
Option A: An easy flat hike on the Rail Trail, go as far as you like, turn whenever you like. Wear good walking shoes, bring poles (in case it’s slippery), a drink, and dress warmly.

Friday Nov. 14 – Advanced Hike: Gladstone Trail, Peachland: Meet at PAC at 9:00am or trail head at 9:40am. Directions: Take 97S towards Peachland. Turn right onto Princeton Ave, sharp right onto Somerset and left on Gladstone. Turn left onto Victoria, right onto Harrington Court and park on road. This is a moderate loop trail with an elevation gain of 262m. Approximately 3 hours. Pack a lunch, poles, and hiking boots. Dress appropriately for the weather. Wed. Nov. 19 – Glen Canyon Greenway Trail: Meet at PAC at 9:00am or trail head at 9:40am. Directions: 4258 Gellatly Rd, West Kelowna. Cross bridge, turn left onto Boucherie. At junction of Boucherie and Gellatly Rd, continue on Gellatly along the lake ~0.8km. Trail head on right with a designated parking area. This is an easy in and out walk with some stairs. Park at trial head by Knox. Bring your water, sturdy hiking boots and poles. The trek is Approx. 1.50 hours, several moderate hills. Coffee at PAC. Wed. Oct. 1 – KVR Trestles hike (to remember Heidi) Meet at PAC at 9:00 am or at the trailhead at 9:30am. Directions: take Benvoulin, left on KLO, turns into McCulloch Road, past Field Road over the bridge then right on Myra Forest Service Road about 1km past the bridge. This is an easy flat hike about 1hr 30-45 mins. Please wear good boots, bring poles, something to drink, a jacket (it can get cool) and a smile. Coffee/ lunch to TBD. The trek is approx. 2.5 hours with some difficult hills to lake. Bring your sturdy hiking boots, poles, water and lunch. Lunch will be along the trail. Wed. Oct. 22 – NEW – Foot of Goat mountain in West Kelowna: Meet at PAC for carpooling at 9:00 am or the trailhead at 9:25 ish. Directions: Take Hwy 97 S over the bridge and turn left on Gellatley Rd. Continue to the lake and right around to Whitworth Rd. and turn left here. Continue on till the END where you will see a staircase and toilets. This is Goat Mountain Park and we will do a trail at the base that actually links West Kelowna with Peachland. At the start there is a long moderate hill and the rest is a low grade incline. Easy return. Round trip about 3 kms. Well groomed trail. Good views. Time 1.25 hrs. Coffee at Tims on Carrington. Friday Oct. 24 – Advanced Hike – Spion Kop: Meet at PAC at 9:00am or the trailhead at 9:30am. Directions: Raven Ridge Trail Head From Hwy 97 take Oceola Rd exit. Turn north onto Carr’s Landing Rd. Turn R onto Moberly, L onto Forest Hills, R onto Townsend and L onto Northstar to the end. Park on the road near gate. This is a moderate to difficult hike, approximately 7-7.5 kms long and about 3-4 hours to complete. We will stop for lunch at the Summit. Wed. Oct. 29 – Mount Baldy: Meet at PAC at 9:00 am or at the trailhead at 9:15 am. Directions: Take HWY97 North to Dilworth Drive; left up the hill and take a right on Mount Baldy Drive. Park at the end of the road. This is a flat start around the north side, a steady climb to the top for a great view and looping back via the south side. Wed. Sept. 3 – John’s Family Conservancy Regional Park: Meet at PAC at 8:30am to carpool or the trailhead at 9:00 am. Directions: Go up Gordon Drive all the way through the Mission towards the Ponds subdivision and new shopping center. Right onto Frost Rd. Left onto Kildeer which turns into Southcrest. Left onto Chute Lake Rd. Left turn lane onto UPPER MISSION DRIVE. Stay on this road until it turns into a gravel road and eventually you will come to the gate and parking lot sign (approx.. 2km of gravel) for the John’s Family Conservancy Regional Park. I am using this route rather than Lakeshore Rd. & Chute Lake Rd. due to road closure (at least it was when I wrote this). Circle hike about 1.5 hrs.

Wed. Sept. 10 – NEW! This is a hike in the upper west region of Kekuli Provincial Park that goes under HWY 97 and follows toward Predator Ridge: Meet at PAC for carpooling at 8:30am or at the trail head at 9:10am. Directions: The trail head is off Bailey Road opposite the exit for Predator Ridge. Take Hwy.97 north staying alert to the signage for Predator. The first sign refers to the distance of 1.2 kms to the turnoff and shortly thereafter there is a 2nd sign referring to LODGING AT PREDATOR. Pay attention !! for the sign – the turnoff onto Bailey Rd is very near and you can see the turnoff on the right and the toilet in the parking lot. Start slowing the car because there is NO DESIGNATED EXIT LANE, so you will make a quick right turn and then an immediate left into the parking lot. This trail is loose gravel that is somewhat packed in places so bring your poles. We will do a loop and then another on the hillside above Kalamalka Lake to show you the most beautiful park bench in Kekuli. Time: 1.5 hours (note- This is NOT a beach walk). Friday Special Advanced Trek – Sept. 12 – Beyond Big Rock: Meet at PAC at 8:30am or the trailhead at 8:50am. Directions: Take Benvoulin, left on K.L.O., turns into McCulloch, past Gallagher’s golf course, left on Field Road to trail head. Bring your sturdy hiking boots, poles and water. We will hike up Mission Creek Beyond Big Rock. The trek is Approx. 3.15 hours, difficult hills, both up and down. Bring your lunch as we have it along the trail. Wed. Sept. 17 – Kalamoir Regional Park: This is an old favourite, and the trees may be changing colour. Meet at PAC at 8:30am or the trailhead at 8:45am. Directions: Turn left onto Sunnyside Rd off Boucherie Rd and follow Sunnyside to the end. Park in the cul de sac. We will start walking along the higher trail and return on the trail along the lake. This is a moderate loop approximately 3.5 kms long with 97m elevation gain. Hike will take 1.5 hours. Poles recommended. Coffee at It’s a Bakery, 845 Anders Rd. or back at the PAC. Friday Special Advanced Trek – Sept. 19 – Angel Springs: Meet at PAC at 8:30am or the trailhead at 9:00am. Directions: Turn right onto McCulloch Rd off KLO then turn right onto Gallagher’s Canyon Rd. Turn right onto June Springs Rd. to Stop sign. Turn left and continue on June Springs Rd. until you reach Myra Canyon Ranch. Take the middle gravel road on the right towards the ranch and drive just over a km. The parking lot for the trailhead is on the right. This is a 6.8km in and out hike with an elevation gain of 290m. There is a hill to start but mostly flat in the middle. A good mix of up and down. Some rocky spots so wear sturdy shoes and bring poles. Dress appropriately for the weather. We will walk slightly further past the Springs to Troll Bridge where we will stop for a snack. Plan on 3-3.5 hours overall. For more information call Issy at (250) 681-2544.
Wed. Sept. 24 – Black Mountain (Tower Ranch entrance): Meet at PAC at 8:30am for carpooling and at the trail head at 8:50am. Directions: Go north on 97 and turn right at McCurdy Rd. Follow, turning right onto Tower Ranch Drive and then right onto Summer Crescent and follow to the ample parking lot. The first 20 minutes takes us uphill but the rest is moderate with a long downhill walk. Very pleasant with great views! Walking poles if you choose. Time: 1.25 hours. Coffee at Speciality Bakery. Wed. August 6 – Peachland Waterfront: Meet at PAC at 8:30am or meet at the trailhead at 9:10am. Directions: Take Hwy 97 to Peachland and turn left on 13th Street. Turn right on Beach Avenue and continue for about 1.5 km then park along the road close to 2nd St. We will gather in Cenotaph Park. This flat 6 km trek goes along the waterfront to Trepanier Creek, returning partway along a trail. Some shade but also lots of sun so wear a hat and pack water. If desired, we can gather after the trek in Cenotaph Park for a picnic, bringing your own refreshments or picking some up in Peachland. You may also wish to pack a folding chair to sit on. Wed. August 13 – Okanagan Centre Beach Walk – Lake Country: Meet at PAC at 8:30am in the parking lot for carpooling or 9:00am at the trail head. Directions: Drive north on Hwy. 97 through Winfield to the Super Save Gas and turn left onto Oceola Rd. Proceed approximately 4 Km on this winding road to the tiny hamlet of Okanagan Centre. Note a 3 way stop, proceed straight here, and note the speed bumps thereafter. Turn left at 5th Street at the playground and park here. Toilets available. This will be a single file flat trail, mostly packed pebbles, an easy walk, totalling approximately 5 km round trip along the shore of OK Lake. No poles required unless you can’t live without them. Wed. August 20 – The Greenway: Meet at PAC at 8:30am or the trail head 8:45am. Directions: Meet at Scenic Canyon Regional Park on Hollywood Rd South. Hike is ~1.5 hrs in and out, flat and mostly shaded. We will walk to the start of the steps. Friday August 22 – Special Advanced Trek – KLO Creek: Meet at PAC 8:30am or 8:50am at the trailhead. Directions: Take Benvoulin, left on K.L.O., turns into McCulloch, past Field over the bridge, park on right just past bridge. This trek is moderate -to-difficult as crossing creek several times up KLO Creek. Bring your lunch, good hiking boots, poles, and water. Please pack your lunch as we will have lunch at turn around.
