RE: SAFE DISTANCING OPERATIONS
There are a few changes that people will have to follow:
People not feeling good should stay home
We will space ourselves during the walks and when stoppages occur – people can switch off to talk with others
Coffee afterwards may not be possible – leader to decide
Trekkers meet at the Parkinson Activity Centre,1700 Parkinson Way, at 9:00 AM unless otherwise indicated People going to the trailhead should gauge their arrival time based on people departing from the PAC
Wear hardy hiking shoes or boots, and bring water, hiking sticks and suitable clothing for weather. Most hikes will be under 2 hours in length and a stop for refreshments will be indicated if possible. Please note, these hikes are not easy strolls as most participants come to get the exercise. There will be hills and a moderately fast pace, and hikes are subject to change as conditions change. For more information on any of the hikes call the leader.
Monthly Schedule of Dates & Destinations below
The board meeting August 13, 2020 addressed concerns about registration on hike day which were reviewed by PAC Administration and a City Representative. Every person partaking in our hikes must provide their name and phone number for contact tracing, this is absolutely imperative. Also, all trekkers must have an up-to-date membership and sign in to meet PAC’s liability coverage. Registration is preferred at PAC prior to 8.30 AM by membership card for each trek.
All trekkers who go directly to the trailhead of the trek must sign in as this is mandatory. Their full name and phone number must be on the sign in sheet. Leaders will ensure all trekkers sign in either at PAC or at the trailhead. Trekkers can also have leaders write their info for them.
The PAC does not endorse carpooling. That is entirely your own personal decision. If you have any symptoms or are associated with a person with Covid you should not car pool or trek until better or properly quarantined.
As per pre-covid instructions – Trekkers can meet at the Centre for 8:30am departure. People going to the trailhead should gauge their arrival time based on people departing from the PAC. We need to tighten this up – for our safety and for the Centre. If you have any concerns contact a Board Member.
Thank you for your cooperation.
