For those wishing to meet at the trailhead, the time and directions are listed within the description of each hike. You will check in there.
Directions to trailhead, difficulty level, and length of time are stated in the descriptions below as well as if there will be a stop for refreshments.
Please note: these treks are for exercise as well as the scenery and comradery. Wear hardy hiking shoes or boots, and bring water, hiking sticks, and suitable clothing for weather.
Hikes are subject to change as conditions change.

It’s a good idea to wear insect repellent and/or take some with you.
BE TICK AWARE
Make sure to check yourselves, your clothing, and your pack at the end of the hike. You don’t want to take any critters home with you.
APRIL 2025
Wed. April 2 – Dilworth Mountain: Meet at PAC at 9:00am or at the trailhead at 9:15am. Directions: The trailhead is at Cassiar Place. From PAC take Glenmore Road, right on Summit, left on Dilworth Drive, left on Cassiar Road and then left into Cassiar Place. The hike is a steady climb up to the Tower and we will traverse a route along Dilworth Mountain. Hike time will be approximately 1.5 hours. Coffee to follow at PAC. Wed. April 9 – Glen Canyon Regional Park West Kelowna: Meet at PAC at 9:00am or at the trail head at 9:20am. Hike will be mostly in Glen Canyon Regional Park in West Kelowna. Directions: Highway 97 through Westbank and turn left on Hebert Road. Turn left onto May Street. You’ll park at parking lot at 2569 May Street which is where Julia’s Junction – Inclusive Play Space is. Bring poles if you use them and good hiking footwear. Some of this will be on gravel/dirt trails, sidewalk along Gellatly Road, and stairs going up and down in the park.
I have made arrangements to have coffee (early lunch if you wish) for 11:00 at the new restaurant called Turtle Jack’s in the Double Tree Hilton hotel which is very close to where we are starting the hike from. I will need a show of hands before we start as to how many will be going to the restaurant so that I can let them know. For more information or questions contact Pepper at 250-470-3917.
Fri. April 11 – SPECIAL Advanced Trek Gladstone: Meet at PAC 9:00am or 9:30am at the trailhead on Harrington Court. Directions: Take 97 through Peachland, right on Princeton at light, about 3 blocks right on Somerset, left on Gladstone, left on Victoria, right on Harrington Court. This trek is moderate-to-difficult as climbing several hills above the lake. Bring your good hiking boots, poles and water. Please pack a good snack and drink as we will have a break at the top. Wed. April 16 – New Hike. McKinley Mountain Loop: Meet at PAC at 9AM or at Trailhead at 9:25 Take Glenmore North to McKinley Rd. Turn left on McKinley Road, Turn right to Shayler Rd. Turn right to Shayler Place. The trailhead starts at the end of the cul de sac.This is not a long hike, but it is quite difficult with lots of uphill climbing. The reward is stunning vistas of both the Glenmore Valley and Okanagan Lake. Bring poles, good hiking boots and water. Hike will be about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Coffee at PAC or Tim H. on Kane Road. Wed. April 23 – Knox Mountain Trek: Meet at PAC at 9:00 A.M. Bring your water, sturdy hiking boots and poles. Directions Clement, Clifton Road, left on Rio, right Woodpark, left on Woodpark Court. Meet at trail head at 9:15 AM. The trek is Approx. 1.75 hours, several moderate hills. Coffee at Tim’s on Kane Road or PAC. Call Ed Letkeman at 250-808-7869 for more information.
Wed. April 30 – Kalamoir Regional Park, West Kelowna: Meet at PAC at 9am or trailhead at 9:30. Take 97 over bridge. Turn left onto Boucherie Rd and left on to Sunnyside Rd. Drive to end of road and park in cul de sac. This is an easy round trip hike that is flat with some inclines. Those who prefer a flat walk only can choose to stay on the lower section and walk in and out along the lake. Coffee at It’s A Bakery on Thatcher Rd or Friends as per individual choice. Wed. March 5 – Woods Lake, Lake Country: Meet at PAC at 9:00am or trailhead at 9:30am. Directions: Take 97 North to Lake Country. Veer right onto Pelmewash Pkwy and drive along lake. Turn right at stop sign on to Oyama Rd. Park at Oyama dog park and boat launch (slight right off Oyama Rd). This is an easy, flat walk approximately 6kms in and back. Grippers and poles recommended. Wed. March 12 – Mission Creek Park: Meet at PAC at 9:00am or Orchard Park Parking Lot at corner of Springfield and Dilworth at 9:15. We will walk down Springfield to Mission Creek Park where we will check out some of the lesser traveled trails in the Sutherland Hills area. Approximately 1 to 1.5 hours depending on weather and trail conditions. Mostly flat but there are some gentle ups and downs. Wear comfortable and sturdy footwear and bring poles if you want. Wed. March 19 – 100 Steps: Meet at PAC at 9:00am or at the trailhead at 9:15am.
Directions: From the Centre turn right onto Spall and go through to Springfield. Turn left and head up Springfield to Ziprick Road. Turn left and park here. Our hike will take us up the Greenway and through Hollywood before climbing the stairs (about 100) up to the Rutland bench. We will return via the Greenway. Approx. 1hr 30mins with one up and one hill down. This is a medium hike on road and trail. Please wear good shoes, bring your poles, a drink, and a smile. Wed. March 26 – Ribbleworth Falls Rail Trail, Winfield: Meet at PAC 9:00am or the trailhead at 9:40am (40 min to Winfield). Directions: Turn right at Woodsdale Rd. and drive 1.2 km. Parking in the lot at the tennis courts. Hike is 6 kms round trip. Coffee afterwards at The Wooden Nickel. For more info call Christine at 778-480-4155

Wed. Feb. 5 – Capital News Centre and Surroundings: Meet at PAC at 9:00am or CNC at 9:20am. Directions: From PAC right on HWY 97, left on Gordon Drive to Lequime Road and then turn left. On entering CNC stay right and park at Boomer’s end close to the Walking Trail. We will walk on that trail around the back of CNC over to the Greenway- distance and direction from there will depend on the condition of the Greenway. This is an easy flat walk – no hills! Wed. Feb. 12 – Sonora Heights: Our hike will start and finish at PAC so meet at 9:00am. We will head down the rail trail before making our way up to Clifton and Sonora Heights. This is an easy hike with just a couple of short climbs. Approx. 1hr.30mins. Please wear good shoes, dress warmly and bring a smile. Coffee to follow afterwards at the Centre. Wed. Feb. 19 – Mission Ridge Park/Woodhaven Nature Conservancy: Meet at PAC at 9:00am or the trailhead at 9:15am. Directions: Take Gordon Dr. S, turn L on McClure Rd, then L onto Raymer Rd and R on Bullock Rd. Park around the intersection of Bullock and Frederick. This trek includes two loops through the Lower Mission, beginning at the corner of Bullock & Frederick Rds. The first section is moderately difficult with a steep climb to a sandy section at the top. Bring your grippers and poles in case of snow or icy sections. The second part is through a beautiful, mostly flat and treed trail. Coffee to follow at Urban Fare. Wed. Feb. 26 – Roberts Lake – Meet at PAC at 9:00am or the IGA Parking Lot, Kane Rd. in Glenmore at 9:15am. This is an easy flat walk to Roberts Lake and back taking 1.5-2 hrs. depending on speed of group. There is both trail and road walking. Please dress appropriately for the weather. Although roads are clear at the current time, consider bringing poles and grippers in case of ice. Coffee at Timmy’s on Kane Rd. or back at PAC. For more information call Issy at (250) 681-2544.
